A message from Orla and Sarah!
Hi everyone! We miss you all lots and we hope you are doing well at home. Be sure to let us know how the work is going for you, or if there is anything we can help you with!
Our main learning topics for this week
English: Persuasive writing - advertisements
Maths: Division
Gaeilge: Caitheamh Aimsire (Pastimes)
S.E.S.E.: Geography of Australia
Seesaw
We are so thrilled to see you using and enjoying Seesaw - it seems to be working really well! This week, some tasks have been assigned on Seesaw, so on the plans you will be told to go and check the activities over there instead. We can't wait to see lots more creativity, learning and enjoyment on Seesaw this week!
Wellbeing Fortnight:
This week is the second week of our Wellbeing Fortnight. Just like last week, one task each day will be focused on Wellbeing and will be found on this page.
Daily tasks
Some of your learning activities are to be done every day, just like we did for our Home Learning throughout the year. You are probably pretty good at doing these by yourself now! We have listed them here and on each plan:
Below you will find a suggested daily schedule on an easy-print document for each day. Each document also includes the relevant resources for that day. You will need to check back here for the website links, Powerpoint slides and teaching videos but everything else is included on the document.
A note for parents/guardians:
Please note that many activities this week are on folensonline.ie - it is free to sign up. We have taken screenshots of workbook pages, but there are many other great resources on the site, particularly for Maths and Gaeilge. We use Planet Maths and Abair Liom in 3rd Class. To create an account:
We also understand that Gaeilge might be difficult for parents. We have provided a ‘Gaeilge Support Document’ with relevant translations, which we hope will help. The children should have an understanding of a lot of the vocabulary and they should be able to try the tasks themselves. However, we do understand that this might be overwhelming for some families. If you find that this is too much, you can of course choose some other activities for your child.
Good luck for this week!
Have a great week, everyone! Remember that the work assigned is only a suggestion. We understand that this is an extraordinary and challenging time - just do whatever is manageable for your family. If you would like to try some extra activities, remember to check out the Bonus Activities page on our website.
*And finally - don't forget to send at least one piece of work (or even just a little message!) to your teacher each week - we are always so happy to hear from you! You can do so on our website, or on Seesaw.
