Previously, Mona had visited our classroom and taught us a lot about the different habitats that are available to plants and animals on the seashore. She showed us lots of treasures that she has found at the seaside over the years, and prepared us for our own seashore safari.
The weather was perfect as we set to finding our own treasures with buckets, nets and magnifying glasses. All of the children (and the adults) were enthralled at the exciting creatures we managed to find, among them: pipefish, butter fish, starfish, porcelaine crab, edible crab, prawn, jellyfish, hermit crab.
Later, we had a chance to have a picnic and a play on the beach. Some of us got in to the ocean for a swim, others played football or just soaked up the lovely summery vibes.
We love outdoor learning!!
Thanks,
