We've been talking a lot about the differences between in-person interactions and those that we have online on social media apps and other online messaging apps. It can be easy to forget that once we post something online, it has the potential to stay online - even if we think we've deleted it! - and be shared and seen by a huge audience!
One of us calculated what would happen if she shared her photo with 11 friends and each of them shared it with 11 and so on. Within an hour, over 19 million people could have had access to it!!
We talked about what to do if a person says something unkind about you or shares something about you in an online setting (keep the message - block the person - report the behaviour (within the app and to a trusted adult)). Sometimes, we felt that the person might not necessarily be trying to hurt you, and in that case, you might not want to block them, but it is still important to take action.
It is also important to consider our own behaviour online, as it is easier to hurt somebody's feelings when we can't read one another's body language and tone of voice.
-And if you look closely at the pictures, you might notice a prop from our upcoming Winter concert performance of Stone Soup!
